how you feel about that?

I feel the same way when I call home sometimes. My mom tells me all the drama because she needs to vent and it only makes me worry. Then I can't concentrate when I'm trying to read and I think "I shouldn't have called." I hope you feel better soon.

Make sure you learn many relaxation techniques when dealing with your parents and are in the tough situation @ home. One of my favorite relaxation skills is breathing, I lift my chain to dispel feelings of sadness and breathe in. I also exercise a lot, and prefer to see my folks after I have worked out, even if just after a light walk. Pilates is great, too, when I lived with my grandmother and tension was sky high, a then-routine session helped be through even the most grueling family occasion. I listen to my favorite music too!

You're not alone. Just wanted to let you know that. Families aren't about perfection, are they? I know it, too. At least you're communicating. We hardly even do that.

Please forgive me for the typos in my comment! My husband started talking to me and I started rushing to finish what I was writing. I think the first sentence works better if it reads like this "learn relaxation techniques to deal with..." To fix the other typo, the next to last sentence should read " a then-routine session helped me". Best of luck!
