It's so much nicer to travel somewhere else when you have good friends and/or family to stay with and explore with. It's also a lot of fun to do the same when they come visit you. I feel bad because these last two weeks my friend Oscar has been here in San Diego, but I've only been able to hang out with him a couple times. You've got some seriously attractive genes in your family.
