the term 'hispanic', i dislike as well but it still stumps me on how to refer to.. brown people. i've never appreciated the word Latin, actually, i dislike it even more than the word 'Hispanic'. i think that if the word hispanic is inaccurate, so it the word latin because surely we don't all have roots italy ( latin meaning relating to ancient rome ). i dunno, i might have a skewed definition. and also, we're obviously not all chicano/a. so, if we don't all have roots in spain, or italy, or have mexican lineage, what other word could we use? i debate with myself over this alot... i was just wondering what you thought.
