how you feel about that?

First, thanks for the good-job-finding-wishes. And, yes, I agree that walking the line between confidence and elitism can be difficult. Pull it off with grace and integrity and you'll be among the Maya Angelou's of the world. But I digress, the point of this note was to say, "adelante." Your letter makes an articulate, reasoned argument. This former Mechista is proud of you. And the hoopla on campus, kinda reminds you of the State of the Union address where gay marriage and steriods in sports were made to be the great evil, when we're still occupying foreign lands. Hmmm? Election year and the biggest issue on campus is a 40 year old document? Priorities, people.

Just another way to erase the past. They want the new generations to forget the struggles against the ignorance of their fathers. The KKK followers still hold true to their mission statement and they have been allowed to parade on the streets of the Chicago suburbs because of "freedom of speech". Are THEY not racist? Oh, that's right, they are not a threat to USA. It saddens me that when 9/11 first happened EVERYONE was an AMERICAN. Now 9/11 is only instilling fear and paranoia among everyone. They must be full of fear that another race is getting ahead. And God forbid they should do so on their dollar! They live in a fantasy world where everyone is privileged and connected.

Ugh. That's sick. But tell me, is there any way we can help? I'd love to show you support in some way.
