This is going to be one those house cleaning/sweeping update tpyes of posts:
- As of Tuesday at about 8:10 p.m., I was through with the fall quarter. All my finals are in. Who knows about grades.
- My professor from Monday never got back to me, so I don't know how she was going to handle my final being half an hour late.
- According to my weather bug, the high in LA has been hitting the mid to upper 70s the past few days. I didn't have to check my calendar or anything to remind me that it is, indeed, mid-December. I've come to expect and actually really enjoy balmy late autumn, and winter days. Still, it makes me a little sad that I've been hibernating with my laptop writing papers and not venturing outdoors to bask in the sunlight.
- I've been sick for over two weeks and it isn't really going away. Arshad helped out by giving me some echinacea and zinc lozenges (yuck!) on Sunday night when I was over at his place. I think I'm getting better... the coughing-up-a-lung episodes have significantly decreased since the weekend.
- For the last couple of weeks, "after finals" was my mantra. It turns out that now that I've successfully (I hope!) completed my first quarter as a PhD student (!) I can tackle my long to do list.
- So, Adrian Beltre is no longer a Dodger, huh? I'm not quite sure how I feel about this. Definitely not good, but I'm not in the "I want to burn Paul DePodesta and Frank McCourt in effigy" camp. Not by a long shot.
- The proposal I submitted for a conference a couple months ago was accepted. Now I have to work with the other two graduate students involved and do the research and write the paper we'll present. Eek! This is good news though.
- I need more guy friends.
