how you feel about that?

when you are rich and famous, don't forget about the little people, the bloggeros, and the xicanos (hey, don't forget you are a cool xicana =). I wish I would have known about the bloggeros meeting.

The Noon
Your reaction to Oso reminded me of when I met for the first time one of my online buddies, La Diva Latina. Spotting her after seeing her wave @ me as I scanned the crowd from the rearview mirror of my husband's car, I remarked "you look much better than I imagined" -- we are better friends now.

Hey, no playing favorites here!!! If the white boy gets a link (Oso), the Mexican boy should get a link too (HP).

LOL. It was fun seeing you again...btw, no necesitas make-up para mirarte bonita.

Agustn and Gustavo, did you guys want to drive down to LA for the LA bloggers meetup? I didn't put that here because most of the people who read this are not in LA.

Noon, I actually almost ran over Oso on his bike. Just kidding. But I did see him on his bike as I was looking for parking.

HP, didn't mean to leave you out. I didn't know you neo-cons were so sensitive.

Vicky, they didn't want me. Hehe. I wasn't really planning on dropping out of school to be on TV.

Z, I'll write more on the questions later.

Dear Cindy's Diary, Keep being there for your owner. Not only does she seem to like you but we, bloggers/readers, do too. Next time you see her tell her a few things for me: 1. keep on keeping on 2. Inevitable by Shakira IS a great song, especially the MTV Unplugged version and 3. Remind her the next time she plays Ms. Pac Man to think of me because I'm the best at that game EVER. and... 4. the next time her foot is asleep, remind her to do some jumping jacks to wake it up. Okay thats all for now, but don't forget to tell her! I know it's a little late, but luckily you wrote it down.

i am jealous that you got to hang out with el oso. don't ever link to HP it just makes his google hits higher which is almost like agreeing with him. if you are going to link to him you should make the text be "uncle Tomas". i think i am going to do a xicana ohio blog meet up.

Uncle Tomas? That reminds me of this quote from Ruben Navarrette Jr.

Miguel Estrada, the Hispanic gentleman who, at one point, seemed headed for the D.C. appeals court for which Brown is now confirmed until his nomination was unfairly derailed by rank racial politics. Estrada is a top-shelf Washington lawyer who had, after coming to the United States from Honduras and graduating with honors from Columbia University and Harvard Law School, worked as an assistant U.S. attorney and an assistant solicitor general. Yet none of that prepared Estrada for the meat-grinder of the judicial confirmation process. Before long, Estrada was in an experience that must have seemed surreal to him at the time fending off accusations from white Democrats that he wasnt Hispanic enough. That was Estradas defect. It was also complete nonsense. I dont see why liberals wont say what they really mean. Its obvious that what concerns them is not that these nominees arent real minorities, but rather that they arent their kind of minority. You know, the kind that asks for permission before they speak and makes sure that what they say falls in line with the views of their liberal benefactors.

Now I'm being called an Uncle Tomas by someone who is half white, lives in Ohio, and more importantly, supports a political philosophy that wants to incresase Uncle Tom's reach.

But whenever you want to get passed ad hominems and discuss real issues, I'm here waiting Elenamary.

Beer and bananas. I don't think I could stomach that combo either. :-P MTV can't handle Cindylu.
[2005-07-19 16:19:51]

oso
Just a quick clarification: cindlylu might seem the epitome of sweet, but she really did try to run me over while I was on my bike. (just kiddin' - it was really good to finally meet you miss cindylu) And, she's pretty good at "pretending to like" HP. Oh geez, now I'm in trouble.
[2005-07-19 20:10:26]

cindylu
Elena, if I really did think HP was a To Toms o vendido, he definitely would not be one of my friends. Good luck with the meetup.

Geo, Oso acted like beer and bananas was a perfectly normal thing. He's strange.

Oso, yes, I'm the great pretender. And you are in big trouble.
[2005-07-20 02:30:50]

oso

Ah, come on cindylu, it's not your fault HP won't leave you alone. Besides, he didn't give you much a chance ... that was pretty slick of him ... right before the timer.

Speaking of HP, I forgot to quote him: "Dawg, if you pay attention, it's always the liberals bringing up race."

He's such a bright guy.

beer and bananas? maybe he was out of milk?
[2005-07-20 13:53:50]

Blex
Well yes, I agree, that was quite the fun filled week there. Good luck with the MTV gig, they really need people with brains working for them. Sushi at a blogger reunion? We Peoria bloggers go to places that cater peanuts and popcorn.
[2005-07-20 15:40:23]

cindylu
Irasali, he had just gone to the grocery store. I think if he wanted milk rather than beer, he would have bought it.

Blex, I won't be doing anything with MTV.

thanks for setting me straight Cindy. I as joking about the meetup I am the only Xicana blogger (as far as I know) in Ohio. I am jealous that you can have a blogger meetup.

"Now I'm being called an Uncle Tomas by someone who is half white, lives in Ohio, and more importantly, supports a political philosophy that wants to incresase Uncle Tom's reach." What does Elena being half-white have to do with anything? Is someone using the race card to quickly? Time-out, time-out!
